I love it when you subscribe to a free email service (ufie.org) and the fucking popups steal your homepage EVEN THOUGH I have my google toolbar set to block all popups.
OH , and of course the page doesn't show up in my history now, and I didn't record it... bah dumb me. WAIT.. no... I found it... it's a nasty script I believe... I found an ftp script and O.BAT on my machine... pointing to default-homepage-network.com Or if you want to find who is hosting them they are Service Telematique Service Internet de Montreal .
Looks like it downloads 2 files, ClrSchP028.exe and calsdr.exe. Then Executes, one and then the other... probably one to set your homepage and the other to remove the fornicating executables from your hd.
Fuckers... die die die and die.
What they are playing on is ignorant people who think "OH NO! I HAVE A VIRUS! OR SPYWARE! OH MY!" and then go through either the links provided, getting more shit. Or freak out and start running around in circles screaming "LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT! THE INTERNET HAS GOTTEN ME!"
Motherfuckers... if I came face to face with one of these assholes they'd get a first-hand view of tech support rage.
Posted by Oorgo at March 18, 2004 10:22 AMYou want a ufies.org email dude? Nothing more fancy than imap/pop and squirrelmail, but no ads and no popups.... contact me at my email given if interested.
Posted by: Arcterex at March 18, 2004 10:37 AMI'm tempted, I definitely will think twice about logging on there to check my newsletters etc.
That's pretty much all that email addy is used for, anyone who knows me has my true address anyways. Surprisingly though I get more spam/virus email at my home address than the free one. Bizarre.
Posted by: oorgo at March 18, 2004 12:09 PMI have that damned crap on my system also. I am spending days now trying to remove it. It keeps going back to the Lyco's page and then loads up 20 popups on my computer. close out one...get another 2. Then Anit virus pops up to tell me I do no have a virus. If I have to reinstall my windows I will. How do we stop this crap?
