Loverna Revisited
Out of mild boredom I did a google search on Loverna, Saskatchewan and I came up with some pretty cool finds. Surprising, in fact, that there was anything, but there are many pictures and history behind what's now a ghost town. The more I see, the more fitting the song is, I think.

Why do I seem kind of obsessed with this tiny little ghost town? I'm not sure, it peaked my interest many many years ago, it must be the innate archeologist in me that is fascinated with long-gone places, relics, and the sad story of Loverna.

Ludicrous misuse of a word, especially by confusion with one of similar sound.
An example of such misuse.
I am now edumahcated.

Posted by: Robbie at May 15, 2004 11:10 PMI've had a long time fascination with ghost towns in general and Loverna in particular.My farher was born in Loverna in 1923 and I have visited on several occassions.There is a haunting sadness about the present situation of a town that was once projected to be very prosperous.There are many geography and economics lessons to be learned from Loverna and I use them regularly in my classes.
